Essential Painting Materials

Your technique is only as good as your gear. Cheap brushes shed bristles; cheap rollers leave lint. Invest in quality.

Tool / Material Purpose Pro Tip
2.5" Angled Sash Brush Cutting in ceilings, trim, and corners. Store in a damp rag during breaks to prevent drying.
3/8" Nap Roller Cover Smooth to semi-smooth interior walls. Wash before first use to remove loose lint fibers.
TSP (Trisodium Phosphate) Heavy duty wall cleaning before painting. Wear gloves; it strips oils and grease aggressively.
Stain-blocking Primer Covering water damage or dark colors. Kilz or BIN shellac-based primers are unmatched for tough spots.
